Mental Health and Crisis Support

There are many support networks in the area the Mental Health Support Brochure has many different services that can help. Many of the services in the brochure can be contacted immediately by yourself or a worried family member. You will find self referral links within the brochure. It also gives links for young people, parents and carers to find help and support.

 

Our GPs can provide initial support as well as providing signposting / referral and advice on mental
health services.

NHS 111 are available 24/7 – you will speak to a mental health professional who can listen to you and help you find the right support.

What to do in a mental health crisis

If your mental or emotional state gets worse quickly, this can be referred to as a mental health crisis or a mental health emergency.

If you, or someone you know, is currently experiencing a mental health crisis, you can contact your local crisis resolution and intensive home treatment team by calling NHS 111 and selecting the mental health option, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Providing community mental health services for people with dementia and older people.

Who is the crisis and home treatment service for?

The service assesses:

  • people aged 65 and older who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.
  • people of all ages if they have suspected or confirmed dementia.

Call NHS 111 and select the mental health option, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
